PROVENANCE: Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy Q.407.17 FOLIO: early calligraphic inscription on front pastedown: "M.S. decan[us]" over escutcheon with initials "M.S." all surrounded by full page inscription, dated 1862 and signed "Annotatio Fr[ancisc]i Xav[er]ii Marotte[?] Presbyt 1862." Modern ink stamp on title page: "Abbaye de [Septfons ...?]" Early inscription at head of title page struck out. 19th-century bibliographic inscription on title page. At head of a2: "initiu[m] sapie[ntiae] timor domi[ni]" in early/contemporary red ink. Ownership inscription of Johannes Pluemel in lower margin of a2: "Iste liber est M[a]g[ist]ri Ioannis Pluem[e]l Ingolstaten[sis] Sacre theologie licentiati anno d[omi]ni 1495." Pasted in the lower margin, Pluemel's arms (an escutcheon showing a branch with three flowers over a blue ground above the initials "d.l.a.M.") On leaf S5 recto: "om[n]is [con]su[mm]at[i]o[n]is vidi finem latu[m] mandatu[m] tuu[m] nimis. M. Io. pluem[e]l licent[iatus] f[ss]t." Ca. 19th-century marginalia. BINDING: Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy Q.407.17 FOLIO bound in early/contemporary tawed pigskin paneled and tooled in blind over bevelled wooden boards. Brass catch plates. Early manuscript label on paper at head of spine. Medieval manuscript waste hinges and sewing guards. Based on identification of individual tools, this binding possibly from the workshop of Johannes Euring, of Ingolstadt (Einbanddatenbank workshop w000039/Kyriss 154).
